Abstract

This study is aimed at accessing the impact of Covid-19 pandemic on education. The study employed a descriptive survey design with both qualitative and quantitative approach. This study is conducted based on primary data. A structured interview schedule was disbursed among the 25 students from secondary school (grade 6th to 10th) through online platforms. Purposive sampling technique was adopted in selecting the respondents for the study. The study revealed impact of Covid-19 on students’ educational activities.

During lockdown period, students are unable to study effectively from home because of a lot of distracting factors like household activities, entertainment, gossiping and hanging out. Due to income shocks among the parents, students face great difficulty to continue their online classes. Education among the secondary school students has been significantly disrupted and created a huge gap in their regular educational activities. Larger portion of the students get no help from parents for their study purpose as the study concludes. Students face huge problem to connect with online class and they are unable to participate in online class regularly, especially those who can’t afford internet at all and it is also true for those who can afford with so much difficulties. The study concludes that Covid-19 has created a negative impact on the educational activities among the students of secondary school students.
